LOVE Songs!

What is your favorite love song? Write it down.

Why do you like it? Who do you (or would you) like to sing it to?

I woke up this morning thinking of a great love song and about how deeply it helps me feel toward my wife, Mary.

I really love my wife and great love songs say and feel things for me I am not able to put into words or music myself.

Sometimes I will just play a love song I am listening to for my wife and say “This is how I feel about you.

Love is the deepest and greatest emotion that we have in life. Some of us feel a lack of love from our parents, family or from a spouse. I can’t imagine life without the love I feel for my wife and kids and I feel for those who want and need love but for whom love seems elusive.

Now think about love again. If God offered you His love in a tangible way would you receive it? I am amazed at how many people answer “no” to God. They claim to be “spiritual” but they deny God the emotion of love. Or they say “I accept God’s love all right. But on my terms. And I keep all these side loves too.” Idiocy. Utter foolishness. The greatest love of all time is being offered to us and we sometimes act indifferent to Him. But here’s the thing, God is offering you His love right now. Will you take it? Will you listen to the love songs He has written to you in the Gospels? Will you move in with and love Him forever?

When I married my wife, I forsook all others and pledged myself and all my love to her. It’s the same with God. He is proposing love and marriage to us. We have to acknowledge His love for us, turn from all our sins (repent of our other spiritual and physical loves) and put all our future and passion into Him. It’s that easy. God loves us passionately. We have to repent (turn from sin and other lovers) and believe (receive His love as true and real) in the Lord Jesus, the Lover of our Soul.

Please read the Bible verses linked in this article about God’s love. https://www.gotquestions.org/does-God-love-everyone.html

Please stop, close your eyes and absorb the depth of God’s love for you. Respond to His love. Dedicate your life to His love today.

John, the beloved Apostle, puts it this way: Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent his Son as the world’s Savior. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God – God remains in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us.” I John 4:10-16
